Megan 'Is Hilarious' In 'Knocked Up' Sequel
We don't know too much about Judd Apatow's "Knocked Up" spin-off movie project, other than the fact that it centers around lovable/slightly dysfunctional couple Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann), a few years after the events that occur in the Katherine Heigl, Seth Rogen pregnancy comedy. Also, if we know one thing about Apatow comedies, it is more than likely that a slew of famous faces will appear in the film, be it in a supporting or cameo role. Apatow has been cagey about revealing any more casting or cameo details, but one interesting addition that was actually announced back in March is Megan Fox, and although we don't yet know who she plays in the film, star Leslie Mann assured us that she is a welcome addition to the cast.
"Megan Fox is so funny," she told us Monday night at the Los Angeles premiere of "The Change-Up." "She's hilarious. You wouldn't, I don't know if other people [expect it], but I think she's really funny, you'll be pleasantly surprised."
So who does she play in the film?
"I can't say that part," she said with a smile, backing up her husband's comments earlier this year regarding spoilers. The rest is a secret because it doesn't come out until 2012 and if you already knew what it was about for a year and a half, you wouldn't even want to see it," he told us. "There will be people who are really interesting in the movie," he teased. "And some familiar people who are in the movie."

Ben Foster Is John Gotti Jr. In 'Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father'
When John Travolta was cast as notorious gangster John Gotti, one had to assume that was the lead role of the movie. But when the title to the film was changed from Gotti: Three Generations to Gotti: In the Shadow Of My Father it became pretty obvious, Gotti Sr. wasn't the plum role. The role of John Gotti Jr. was and Ben Foster has just been cast to play him.
Despite some ongoing controversy, Gotti: In the Shadow Of My Father is scheduled to begin pre-production next month for a January start date. Foster and Travolta will co-star with Al Pacino and Kelly Preston under the direction of Barry Levinson. The real Gotti Jr. is a consultant on the project, which was recently in the news because Joe Pesci, once cast as Gotti's second in command, filed a lawsuit against the production company, Fiore Films. Variety broke the news of Foster's casting and also mention that Levinson is currently rewriting the script which was originally by Analyze This writer Leo Rossi and touched up by James Toback.
In a statement, Foster spoke highly of Levinson who cast him in Pacific Heights, one of his first roles.
Barry Levinson was the first director who took a chance on me, and I have a career because of him. This is a film about family, fathers and sons. I am deeply honored for the opportunity to work with Barry and the amazing cast he is assembling to help bring the story of the Gotti family to the screen.
Ever since the film was first announced there's been a sort of blanket of uncertainty surrounding it, at least from the outside. The producer kept talking it up, he cast Lindsay Lohan, lost her, cast her again, then – we think – lost her again. Then they reportedly change Joe Pesci's role and tried to pay him less, which is why he's suing. And one would think all these things bode poorly for the film but, every few weeks, a new huge name is announced for the cast making everything seem peachy.
With Foster, Levinson has one of the most underrated male actors out there today. While studios keep giving actors like Channing Tatum huge roles, Foster takes the small movies and makes them huge through his performances. Turns in 3:10 to Yuma, Alpha Dog and The Messenger are proof of that. He should knock this role out of the park, especially with the actual person helping him through it all.

New Screenwriter Hired For Futuristic 'Robin Hood' at WB; Is the Wachowski's Similar 'Hood' Dead?
Briefly: One of the bigger laughs we had last year came via the announcement that the Wachowskis were attached to write and direct Hood, an urban retelling of the Robin Hood story. (With Will Smith attached to star.) The project didn't exactly make waves, and rather fell off the radar as the Wachowskis moved into developing Cloud Atlas with Tom Tykwer; they'll shoot that film later this year. Hood became something like a 2010 footnote: "remember this awful-sounding thing they flirted with before taking home the arty prom queen?"
On a parallel track, Warner Bros. has been slowly developing another Robin Hood film, this one a futuristic take set in "a dystopian London and center on a band of thieves whose activities restore hope to the city's embattled population." Jason Dean Hall was hired to write in 2009, and commercial director Nicolai Fuglsig attached to direct.
Now Deadline says that Michael Ross is rewriting the film. So WB is moving forward with this one, quite possibly because the Wachowskis are busy with Cloud Atlas. The question then becomes: is Hood effectively buried with this film taking priority at the studio?
